Building Better Families Initiative

The Building Better Families Initiative strengthens families as the foundation of healthy communities. This program supports parents, caregivers, and youth together—recognizing that economic success is deeply connected to stable, informed, and supported households.
 

Program components include:

• Family-centered workshops and community education

• Health, wellness, and nutrition programming

• Gardening for health and life-skills education

• Intergenerational engagement and support

• Resource navigation and community connection
   

This initiative promotes long-term wellbeing, self-sufficiency, and shared responsibility within families and neighborhoods.
 

Workforce & Career Pathway Programs

We provide industry-aligned training and credentialing programs that prepare participants for high-demand careers with sustainable wages.

• Pharmacy Technician Training

• FAA Drone Pilot Certification

• IHSA Sports Referee Certification

• Emerging Career & Technical Education (CTE) Pathways

Participants receive hands-on training, exam preparation, career coaching, and job placement support through partnerships with employers, healthcare systems, and community institutions.

 

Youth & Young Adult Development

Our youth and young adult programs focus on ages 16–24, supporting participants as they transition from school to career.
 

Services include:

• Career exploration and workforce readiness

• Life skills development

• Paid and unpaid internship pathways

• Leadership development and mentorship

• Financial literacy and goal-setting

We meet young people where they are and help them build confidence, direction, and a clear path forward.
 

Equity, Wellness & Community Engagement
